Looking At The State Of Massachusetts

Massachusetts was one of the original 13 colonies that made up the United States and is the most populous state in New England. Home to Boston, one of the oldest, largest, and most recognized cities in the United States, despite its small stature in land mass this state has plenty to offer visitors and residents alike!

Massachusetts is a state of living history, sporting some of the earliest consistent settlements in the beginning times of the United States and also home to MIT and Cambridge, two of the leading and most recognized universities in the world. Since the very beginning this state has played an important part in the history of the United States and that influence has not waned over time as Boston has aged wonderfully, blending the history of old with the modernity necessary to make that perfect balance of giving acknowledgement to a worthy past without getting stuck in it.

While many Americans might know the city for its professional sports teams as much as anything with the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins, the city continues to thrive economically and politically as well. Tourists find plenty to see and do while residents insist on a local government that is frequently looking to improve quality of beauty and life for residents within the city proper and in the greater surrounding area.

The Boston Marathon is considered one of the truly unique and outstanding athletic events that captures the imagination of the public and despite being the target of a terrorist attack in 2013, the tradition continues as a nod to decades of tradition and refusing to change a good thing that represents vibrant city life.

In fact Maine was originally considered an off-shoot of Massachusetts Territory before splitting off to become its own state. However even despite this historically the state has been home to famous athletes, important CEOs, major politicians of both parties, and has worked to always be part of innovation and advancement in whatever social, economic, or political forms that is taking with the times.

The state might be small in appearance, but the rich tradition of blue collar workers and white collar workers, innovators and politicians, living history and cutting edge progress has created a unique blend that helps explain this state’s remarkable identity. There’s a lot to like about what Massachusetts brings to the table, and that’s not likely to change any time soon!
